Coaching FAQs

What is the difference between counselling, mentoring and coaching?

A counsellor listens to the clients questions and issues without judgement and may offer guidance and support.

A mentor provides the answer to a client's questions based on their own experience and expertise. A “do what I do” approach.

A coach, through effective questioning and encouragement allows the client to discover the answer to their questions themselves.

Who is coaching suitable for?

Coaching is suitable for anyone who wants to use the learning from past experiences and focus on their future to create lasting change.

I work with both men and women in all aspects of their life both personal and professional and don’t limit my niche to a specific area of expertise. I believe mindset is the key to making lasting change in all areas of a client's life.

Coach and client working together to identify goals to work on, releasing negative emotions and limiting beliefs that may stand in the way of achieving those goals and creating lasting a mindset change.

What Issues can coaching be useful for?

Coaching is a useful tool to tackle any area of your life, both personal and professional. coaching can be useful in areas such as, but not limited to:

  • Career change
  • Confidence and lack of self belief
  • Lack of purpose in life
  • Relationships
  • Coping with major life changing events
  • Create balance in life
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Personal growth
What coaching methods do you use?

I use a combination of Linguistics, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy (™), Hypnosis and wellbeing coaching techniques.

What is Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)?

Dr Richard Bandler invented the term NLP in the 1970’s

NLP looks at the nervous system of the mind ( NEURO)  through the use of language and other forms of non verbal communication (LINGUISTIC) to allow an individual to recode the way the brain responds to stimuli to create positive behavioural change (PROGRAMMING)

NLP came out of modeling excellent behaviour in others and in simple terms uses the language of the mind to achieve specific and desired outcomes for individuals

What is Time Line Therapy (™)?

Tad James- founder of Time Line Therapy (™), sometimes referred to as Creating Your Future Coaching ® created a model which is recognised as one of the most effective tools for creating lasting behavioural change.

The unconscious mind stores memories and emotions from past experiences and it is believed that unwanted, excessive and inappropriate emotions from the past can hold people back in their current life.  The aim of this therapy is to release excessive negative emotions of anger, sadness, fear, hurt and guilt from past experiences which may be holding you back from creating positive change in your life now. It can also address any limiting beliefs or decisions that are holding you back from achieving your potential.
